Original photograph frontis, pasted inside red border, and one further similar photo plate, with paper guards. 3 b/w engraved plates and text illusts. Original dark maroon cloth gilt, faded to spine and part of rear board. A.e.g. Yellow coated endpapers. Blanks to front and rear spotted, trifle to photo pages inside red border but not affecting images. Two armorial bookplates to front pastedown and free endpaper, and Prinknash Monastery Ex Libris bookplate to verso of ffep. Two corner tabs to front pastedown. O/w contents clean and tight. A very good copy.

(31 x 25cm). Unpaginated Preface and List of Subscribers. pp.346 + 2 (index). Coloured frontis, numerous b/w plates and text figures. Half calf over marbled boards, gilt to spine. Calf worn and rubbed, title label lost from spine. Wear to head and foot of spine with short split to outer joint at front board, not affecting binding. Marbled endpapers. All edges marbled. Prinknash Monastery Ex Libris bookplate to front free endpaper, and an older armorial bookplate to front pastedown. Two corner-tabs to blank flyleaf. Frontis, prelims and extrems lightly foxed, with light spotting affecting plates (mostly) throughout. Most of the textblock is clean and bright. The binding is sound and firm. A very good copy. Oversize or heavy book, requiring extra postage.
