8vo. (6.5 x 4 inches). pp.vi + 128. 22 monochrome illusts (including vignette of Dante to title page). Original purple cloth gilt, trifle marked, and stained to top edge of rear cover. A.e.g. Nine portraits partly and inexpertly coloured-in, possibly by early owner, William Robert Cornwallis Baird. Front free endpaper carries the gift inscription to W. R. Cornwallis Baird from his great aunt Lady Dunally 1867. The same hand has written some of W. R.'s initials and his name in full below the inscription. [William Robert Cornwallis Baird (1858-1891).] [Emily, Lady Dowager Dunally]. A Very Good copy, with association.
