Original blue cloth elaborately blocked in gilt and black, slightly rubbed to corners. All edges gilt. All tissue guards browned. Boards slightly bowed in the centre because the 14 plates are laid on thick card. O/w a very good copy. Clean and tight. Frontispiece by George Washington Wilson and 13 Scottish views by Thomas Ogle. (11 photographs altogether, generally bright.).Numerous engraved illusts from drawings by Birket Foster and John Gilbert. Original blue cloth with bevelled edges and black rules. Gilt title and vignette to upper board and spine, rubbed to corners. A.e.g. Original brown endpapers. Inner hinges just-cracked. Bookplate of Nigel Temple to front paste-down, with shadow of removed bookplate. Ink inscription to back of front free endpaper (1876). Book ticket of Burn & Co. to rear paste-down.
